Newly decorated rooms with a very comfortable bed and a lovely view, great breakfast. Location short walk to Newburgh-on-Ythan Golf Club, the North East of England and a golf course.
A little tired bathroom.

Historic charm, Excellent local food quality, Seal watching opportunities
Certain rooms lack proper heating, with cold temperatures dampening the experience!!! Consider updating the dated decor and addressing inconsistent plumbing issues for a better stay!!! Narrow hallways could certainly use some widening!!!

evening meal in bar, comfy bed
decor in need of attention, bedroom furniture well worn, double bedroom very small, no pressure in shower, self serve breakfast good choice but bacon, sausage, egg etc. cold with lying and obviously nobody checking temperature of this!

We arrived late in the evening when all the tables were full we were given a table set up in the empty guest lounge and treated like royalty. Bar food was an excellent standard the staff were very friendly and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable.
Room was a little tired. No shower curtain but on trying the shower which was a dribble could understand why.

The building is old and needs some attention we enjoyed our short overnight stay. Homely comfortable. When we telephone the following night to say we left a travelling rug behind no problem to be sent. As we were attending a function across the street we were told that the hotel had change hands and was on the up. We agreed with this All the best for the future.

All of the staff there there were very helpful and friendly. The food and service was of a very high standard. Being able to walk a short distance to the beach from the hotel (15 minutes) and then to be able to watch the wildlife there, including the huge colony of seals was an added bonus for us. The location is quite but also handy for Aberdeen centre, only a short drive away.

The refurbished hotel has a cozy double room with a super comfortable bed. The restaurant offered a lovely dinner, and their cheese and biscuits were good, especially with the port! The view of the water and local wildlife is a real bonus.

Being slighly off the beaten track in Newburgh, there is little or no traffic noise and the dawn chorus and evensong were a delight. The hotel looks over the golf course and sand dunes and the little burn that runs behind the hotel is full of terns and ducks. The restaurant serves very good food and has an elevated view over the burn and dunes.
The only drawback is its distance to Aberdeen city centre (about 12 miles) and a taxi would be about £30 each way.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Dinner in the dining room was overpriced, but meals in the bar were excellent.
The hotel is two old houses joined together. The rooms are fairly small. I was Ok , but my son, daughter-in-law and grandson had to share a room and were very cramped.
